So you want to know what else I've got in store for Ranma and Co.? Well I have everything planned out already - I just need to jot it down! (I've told some of you this before, so just skim ahead, if you please ^_^) I fully intend to finish this fic with about 5 more chapters. Yes, it won't be one of your neverending series - it does have an ending. I know what it's going to be, and I'm sure you have a very good idea as well. ^_~ Here's the list of upcoming fics. Mind you, the titles are tentative and may change, as well as the order in which they'll be posted. (Actually, those titles are really there just to tease you for an indefinite amount of time ^___^)

  • Akane: Macho Macho Man?
  • Uh-oh! P-chan's in Hot Water!
  • Bewitched, Bewildered, Bothered
  • The Dating Dilemma
  • Ryouga and Ukyou: Partners in Crime No More?
  • The Case of the Bad Nannichuan

Was that enough of a teaser for you? Heheheh. Now you get to sit tight and wait. And wait. And wait...

some random thoughts and lame excuses
Yes, yes, I know it's been a long time since I updated!! I humbly beg for your forgiveness in my endless procrastinating - it's a habit that I just can't break, and since there's no set deadline for this fic ... ^_^;; Anyway, I have been pretty busy though - I'm not lying about that! First I got distracted by making Winamp skins (go to my site to check them out!) and stayed distracted for a good 6 months (and still am, by the way), and then I started working full-time during the summer. Believe me, working all day on a commputer does not make you want to go home and relax in front of the computer. Plus I've been watching a LOT of other anime lately, and Ranma isn't my current obsession anymore. I still feel that Ryouga and Ukyou should be together, but it's not exactly my reason to live. Don't worry though - I still plan to finish the series! Now on a more serious note ...

If you read my fics, then you'll notice that they're rather light-hearted in contrast to many popular Ranma fics out there. I've been aware for quite some time that there's a mild controversy over anime fics versus out-of-character (OOC) fics. Although I do enjoy the OOC fics, I usually like the anime-style stories better - when well-written. The characters seem to be more familiar when given the same treatment as in the manga or anime.

Some people say that use of the same treatments indicates a lack of creativity and a fear of actually using one's imagination. However, I feel it still is pretty difficult to work within the constraints of keeping stories in-character. I have to really consider what a certain character would do in a particular situation - their reactions, their words, their thought patterns - (ok, this is starting to sound like "Silence of the Lambs" O_o) If I get the character wrong, then the story just doesn't sound believable as a real anime episode or manga chapter.

All right, I didn't forget that what I'm writing about will totally invade OOC territory - that is what's been troubling me. I began writing because what I was waiting for to happen never did, so I came up with my own scenarios. But I've always tried to keep the mood comic - except in a few key scenes (hey, even Takahashi-sensei did that sometimes!). There's plenty of romance in Ranma 1/2 - but there are never any definite resolutions to the relationships! Despite everything - the wishes of my loyal fans and even my desire to see a certain pair together - I plan to stick as closely to the anime/manga as possible! And I think that should give you a clue as to how "Stir It Up!" will end.

Whew, got that off my chest! If you would like to comment or want to yell at me, please do!
